Renting with Rent North East
From your first viewing request to moving in, here is what to expect and what we will need from you.
From viewing to moving in
Requesting a viewing
Start with an available property and complete its pre-viewing form. We review the information before arranging the next step. Submitting a form does not confirm an appointment or reserve the property.
Applying after a viewing
If you want to proceed, use the application link we provide. We may need information about the adults moving in, income, employment, previous housing and a guarantor where required. Tell us once you have submitted so we can check progress.
Before you move in
The landlord's approval is one step in the process. The required legal checks, signed paperwork, cleared payments and other move-in requirements must be complete before keys can be released.
How we assess applications
We assess every application individually, fairly and on its evidence, including affordability. We do not exclude applicants because they receive benefits or have children. Right to Rent checks are the legal checks required for every adult who will live at the property.
Our standard application process requires a suitable UK homeowner guarantor. A guarantor agrees to cover the tenant’s obligations under the guarantee if the tenant does not meet them.
The advertised rent
Each listing shows a specified rent. We do not invite or accept offers above the advertised rent.
Upfront payments
Your property's listing and application information explain the rent and deposit. Read the tenant fees page for the permitted payments and any applicable conditions.
If you need help
Contact the team with the property address and application reference. Please tell us if a form is inaccessible or you need another way to provide the information.
